Saint Paul—September 2008—In early 2009, a multi-national adventure team will ski all 30 European countries in a world-record 14 days. All for a global cause: raising awareness and funds for renewable energy and alternative fuel sources.

The Colorado-based Across the Atlas team, known worldwide for its extreme expeditions to support non-profit organizations and charities, chose Concept Group as its cause-related communications partner.

The St. Paul marketing communications agency developed a strategic and creative integrated campaign for this continental endeavor, which included expedition theme—Carving Europe—An Eco Ski Race—website, e-mail campaign, public relations and media kit. Ongoing tactics include sponsor solicitation, trip planning and logistical support, and post-event marketing.

Over the course of the last several years, the team has raised tens of thousands of dollars for organizations such as the National Sports Center for the Disabled, the Colorado Cancer Foundation and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. It has also raised thousands of dollars to augment the training expenses of aspiring paralympians.
